By working in partnership with a range of organisations (both corporate and/or community based) we aim to create opportunities for learning about entrepreneurship through entrepreneurial action.

Socially Innovative Projects
Participants will work on their chosen projects which are designed and implemented by the participants. The main objectives of these projects, is that, they are unique, innovative and need to make a positive impact across people, profit and the planet (at a local, national and/or international level).
Students will be required to develop sound business plans and strategies, as well as apply innovative action in how they get their projects funded (e.g., employers, corporate, government, grants, sponsorship, private investors, philanthropists etc.,) to successfully achieve their objectives.

Program Delivery
The program is delivered predominately as a practical grounded course with the theoretical skills component being taught in an interactive experiential way, to cover the diverse learning styles within the group.

Notes and resources are made available on the website to download and work with regularly.

The teleconference/webinar classes are currently being held weekly to fortnightly on Tuesday or Thursday evenings (from 6:30 to 8:30pm Perth time).

The teleconference/webinars are an important part of the training and accreditation and also count towards your overall portfolio accreditation assessment process.
From time to time you will work in triads with fellow course participants, as study and practice groups, to discuss and workshop case studies, scenarios, projects and practice new skills in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
You will also be regularly exposed to a range of guest speakers/presenters, subject matter experts from within and/or cross disciplinary fields, to inspire and share their experience and wisdom with us.
The three (3) x four (4) day face-to-face intensives are held at the beginning of each quarter of the study year. This is an important (creative and highly inspiring) part of the training. You get to meet the facilitators; other participants and the opportunity to immerse yourself experientially to participate in the journey and action learning activities.
Flights, food and accommodation are up to the student to provide but we provide the training and the venue plus snacks in between.

How will I be assessed?

In line with the professional standards associated with being a nationally accredited course, there is a (social) project based performance and a series of assessment tasks that address each of the units you study. There are 8 units in total.

The (Social) Project Portfolio
As mentioned previously, the main outcome and assessment of this program will be for participants to apply all course learnings to research, develop and implement at least one organisational and/or community based socially innovative and sustainable ‘project’ that has a measurable positive impact on profits, people and the planet.
In addition to the project portfolio, other assessment methods are included throughout the program to cover various course material that is either theory or practical skills based development.

These may include (however are not limited by) the following:
·         Practical skills assessments – you practice the skills and demonstrate them to your assessors in regular formal and informal ongoing sessions.
·         Formal written assessments – to be completed at the conclusion of a stage.
·         Ongoing short reviews and reports of practices and skills with a short essay/ article of the overall learnings, at the conclusion a stage.

The initial three (3) months of the program is the incubation phase of your project, where during and post the initial induction/intensive workshop you will research, analyse and scope out your project idea(s) that will then be used to developed comprehensive project and business plans, in readiness for grant and/or funding application.
The program design and course material aims to assist you to discover through study, research, self-reflection and inspiration, how to create a business that is an expression of your authentic self, personal vision and purpose, which may translate into your next career phase, life’s work and/or legacy.
